Acer Predator Z271: 144Hz 27-inch G-Sync VA Gaming Monitor

The Acer Predator Z271 is one of Acer’s newest addition to their elite Predator gaming monitor line. The monitor has a 27-inch large display with and 1080p (1920 x 1080) resolution. This is a curved monitor and it has a curvature of 1800R. From the outside it looks near identical to other Predator gaming monitors, including the other two Acer additions: the Acer Predator Z301C and the Acer Predator Z321Q.

The Predator Z301 has a VA panel, a rather uncommon technology used in high refresh rate monitors, that’s capable of displaying 16.7 million colors with a brightness of 300 cd/m². In contrast most monitors use a IPS or TN panel with a brightness of 350 cd/m². Reaction time is said to be 4ms which is keeping in line with other VA panels. A drawback we often see in the Predator Z271 and other 27 inch monitors is that the low resolution that it is equipped with results in a low pixel density.

The monitor has a 144Hz refresh rate and NVIDIA G-Sync support for a silky smooth gaming experience without stuttering. The monitor has two 7W DTS speakers built into it, offering a good way to unwind after wearing headphones for a long time. It includes numerous features like flicker-less technology, blue-light filtering, and low-dimming.

Connectivity wise you can utilize a DisplayPort or HDMI 1.4 port and it features four USB 3.0 ports on the side of the monitor. The monitor is very adjustable for ergonomics and enables you to change its tilt, swivel, and height. Also great is that it supports VESA mounting which is useful in multi monitor setups.
