You know what’s not cool? When a company releases a great game with bugs and then it doesn’t patch it, at all. Or when the same company releases a Game of the Year version of the same game, and again doesn’t patch it. Well, Square Enix decided to patch the hidden gem of 2017, Nier: Automata. More accurately, the company laid plans to release a patch for the Steam version of the game, four years after the game came out. Better late than never.
The tweet doesn’t include any details about the upcoming patch but since it’s not April 1st, we do believe that we’ll finally receive a patch and won’t be forced to use mods to play Nier: Automata without hitches. The company did say we will get more info “at a later date,” so we cannot wait to see whether this patch will fix all of the issues addressed by FAR and the Game Pass version.
Although, to be honest, the Game Pass version of the game is far from perfect. Anyway, the patch is arriving, but we don’t know when. The best news would be if Square manages to drop the patch before the Nier Replicant remaster arrives on April 23, 2021.
