Ro-Ghoul is a video game developed by SushiWalrus on user-generated game platform Roblox, originally released on the 12th of July 2017 and achieving popularity in 2018. Based on the dark fantasy anime and manga Tokyo Ghoul, the game is essentially a combat-focused online RPG where players choose to pursue membership of one of two factions: “the Ghouls”, or “the Commission of Counter Ghoul” (CCG).
The Ghouls are a species of carnivorous creatures who can only survive by consuming the flesh of either humans or fellow Ghouls. But, except for their… ‘unique’ diet… these Ghouls are essentially just like the human beings who are committed to opposing them. Therefore, in Ro-Ghoul, Ghouls are one of the playable factions that players can choose to join. Ghouls have a red colour for their rank and their User Interface (UI).
In a world filled with flesh-eating monsters, it’s no surprise that there’s a class of federal agents dedicated to investigating them. The Commission of Counter Ghoul – or CCG – is the other playable faction in Ro-Ghoul players can choose to join. They are entirely constituted by humans and have a blue colour for their rank and their User Interface (UI).
Ro-Ghoul is effectively an MMORPG inside Roblox, so the purpose of the game is to interact with other players & NPCs, complete quests, level up your character, build your reputation and acquire new weapons, abilities & equipment. You can spend your time role-playing, leveling up and defeating bosses, or head over to the arena for some player versus player action. There are also Guilds, known sometimes as Groups, which can add a whole new social dimension to the title.
Ro-Ghoul can be pretty unforgiving to beginners, so a helping hand may really help to get you started. Many players also complain that getting ahead in Ro-Ghoul means grinding really hard. The solution to alleviate some of these burdens are simple: Promo Codes and a couple of insightful tips & tricks. Lucky for you, all of these are included in this article.

How to Redeem Ro-Ghoul Codes
The process of redeeming Ro-Ghoul codes is a little more complicated than your standard Roblox promo code affair. Instead of just typing the code into an input box, you’ll need to learn to input the Promo Codes into the chat box. Open the game and locate the chat window. Press the ‘/’ key or click the “click to chat” input box. From there, simply copy & paste or type one of our brilliant promo codes into the chat box and hit enter.
Be sure to take note of when letters are capitalised and when they aren’t, these codes are case sensitive and feature letters, numbers, spaces and punctuation. Finally, make absolutely sure you include the ‘!Code’ at the beginning of each code, as this is the part that instructs the game to read the sequence of letters and numbers as a promo code. If the code was successful, you’ll be able to see a chat bubble appear letting you know the spoils of the entered promo code.
But remember: you can only use each code only once. If you use a code as a Ghoul or CCG, you won’t be able to use it again if you switch over. For this reason, I’d play the game for a while as both factions without redeeming any codes to make sure you don’t do anything you’ll later regret.
How To Use Ro-Ghoul Items
Ro-Ghoul codes are usually launched to celebrate a particular milestone or holiday. Ro-Ghoul Promo Codes regularly deliver Yen or RC Cells when redeemed, but occasionally can also reward masks or other event-specific items.
For the most part, Ro-Ghoul promo codes serve to help you accumulate wealth a lot faster than you would without. Ro-Ghoul’s standard currency is known as ‘Yen’, which can be attained in-game by either killing and looting non-player characters, with different classes of NPC dropping different quantities of Yen. These drops range from the 2,500 Yen left by Humans and the 1,000,000 Yen left by Eto Yoshimura.
Inside the game, you have the opportunity to purchase the 2x Yen Gamepass which doubles your ability to collect Yen. But since Yen is so essential to progressing in-game – Yen is only useful because it can be used to purchase new kagunes, quinques and masks – it’s no surprise that players may be looking for a free way to speed up farming.
However, Promo Codes can also deliver Red Child Cells, known as RC Cells, which are massively useful to both Humans and Ghouls. Regularly, RC Cells can be collected from the corpses of NPCs and players, much like Yen. The RC Cells drop rate varies between classes of NPC, with Humans dropping 50 RC Cells and High Rank Aogiri Members delivering 800 RC Cells. Of course, Codes offer another avenue with which to acquire these massively useful in-game items.
RC Cells are useful because they can be used by both Ghouls and CCG to activate special abilities. Each Ghoul has, ingrained in their unique biology, an organ which holds RC Cells called “Kakuhou”. When enough RC Cells are present, the organ can secrete a biological weapon called Kagunes. If a Ghoul collects enough RC Cells from corpses their Kagune will evolve into Kakuja, a far stronger version. These can range from sharp, Spider-like phantom legs protruding from your back or a giant Snake-like monster which strikes enemies upon your command.
On the other hand, the CCG utilises weapons known as “Quinques”. These weapons are actually derived from Ghoul’s Kagunes and can be used in both melee and ranged form. Therefore, while RC Cells are mainly useful to Ghouls, CCG players can also use them for stages on a few Quinques.
Roblox Ro-Ghoul Beginners Tips & Strategies
Roblox Ro-Ghoul is a lot of fun, but can be a lot to wrap your head around at first. It can also be pretty unforgiving if you don’t have a strong sense of the right things to do in order to quickly accumulate Yen and RC Cells and develop strong Kaganes & Quinques. We’ve boiled our experience in-game down into three tips we wish we’d known when we started playing the game, and these should help you get on the path towards mastery if you’re a struggling beginner.
The first, if you read the above section, is obviously: Use the Promo Codes wisely!
One of the biggest mistakes new players tend to make is neglecting the trainers spread throughout the map. Trainers are special, interactable and, most importantly, harmless NPCs who offer both Ghouls and CCG agents mini-games which can offer levels and skill boosts. For new players, Trainers are an indispensable asset.
You can find these Trainers around the map and each offer different Stat Boosts and requirements. There are a bunch of different activities these Trainers can offer, including ‘Clicking Circles’, ‘Key Pressing’, ‘Matching Pattern’ and ‘Mouse Dragging.’ But, unfortunately, CCG Agents can only use CCG Trainers and Ghouls can only use Ghoul Trainers. The Ghoul Trainers are located at Anteiku and CCG Trainers are located on the first floor of the CCG Tower.
Once you’ve trained to 100% with any Trainer, their ‘Special Skill’ will become available. You’ll have three spots with which to fill these Special Skills, each giving the player a different boost. However, there are some limitations. You can only train with each Trainer once every 5 to 25 minutes, and if you fail that increases by 20%. Ghouls can also only get a total of 590 levels and CCG a total of 560 levels. Remember, the level cap is 2000 – so getting an easy 600 from a Trainer is a total no-brainer.
Join a Ro-Ghoul Guild
Ro-Ghoul Guilds, sometimes referred to as Groups, aren’t a deliberate feature of Ro Ghoul, rather a result of its massive popularity. Guilds are communities of players, some of which are recognised by developer SushiWalrus with Guild masks and logos, who group together in order to take on enemies together and develop a sort of in-game community.
If you’re an experienced Ro-Ghoul player, Guilds can be a great way to keep the game fresh or breathe new life into it. But for beginners, Guilds are almost even more important. Hooking up with more experienced players means that you will pick up the game, how to do everything Ro-Ghoul has to offer and effective strategies to succeed and thrive.
One you join a Guild, you’ll get a badge over your head which you can toggle on and off in the settings. If you see someone walking around with a Group tag, or even a group meeting together, go up and see if you can get involved!
