Yet another fantastic series published by Nintendo, Fire Emblem is a fantasy RPG series focusing on the tactical side of gameplay, while maintaining the idea of classic RPGs. The first game was released way back in 1990, under the name Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light… phew, that’s a lot to process for a video game title, but it essentially encompassed everything the game was about at the time, and fans were quick to accept the franchise and work with it as it grew into a very popular series, and the favorite of many gamers. In honor of that, we’re going to display some Fire Emblem statistics and facts to see how the series performs in terms of sales and revenue, as well as anything else we can find on its standing in the modern day of gaming. Of course, our scope of statistics ranges far beyond single-game topics, so if you want a broad picture and to learn how many people play video games in the world, we’ve got you covered!
Fire Emblem key stats
Since Fire Emblem is a series that does not get as much media coverage as some more popular AAA series, we’re going to contain all of the information we have about it in this single section, from total sales across the entire series and revenue to any relevant news postings that can tell us where the series is going in the future.
The Fire Emblem series has sold 13.4 million units.

- Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light has sold 329,087 units.
- Fire Emblem Gaiden has sold 324,699 units.
- Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem sold 767,338 units.
- Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War has sold 494,216 units.
- Fire Emblem: Thracia 776 has sold 124,324 units.
- Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon has sold 524,000 units.
- Fire Emblem Awakening has sold 2.35 million units.
- Fire Emblem Fates has sold 3.05 million units.
- Fire Emblem: Three Houses has sold 3.82 million units.
- Fire Emblem Engage has sold 1.61 million units.
- Fire Emblem Warriors has sold 1 million units.
- Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes has sold 1 million units.
Here we can see that the games have had relatively decent sales across the entire series, with Fire Emblem: Three Houses taking the top spot at nearly 4 million sales since it was released in 2019. Fire Emblem Engage is the most recent release at the time of writing and has not had as good of a performance as Nintendo and the community expected, as many players have tried to love the game but have not been able to, for one reason or another.
Fire Emblem Heroes has generated over $1 billion in revenue.

- Fire Emblem was Nintendo’s first mobile game to cross this milestone.
- The milestone was crossed in June 2022.
- Even though the game has all of that revenue, it is in fourth place when it comes to Nintendo’s mobile games in terms of total downloads.
- Fire Emblem has 17.8 million total downloads, whereas the top-downloaded Nintendo mobile game was Super Mario, at 310.7 million downloads.
- 54% of total player spending in Fire Emblem Heroes was in Japan.
- 32.4% of total player spending in Fire Emblem Heroes was in the United States.
- The total number of downloads is split evenly between the Play Store and App Store.
This is perhaps the most notable aspect of the Fire Emblem series, at least where the mobile game Heroes is concerned. While the game has “only” been downloaded 17 million times, it has generated more revenue than a majority of the mobile games available on both the Play Store and the App Store.
Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Fire Emblem Engage had 11.5 million hours watched on Twitch in their best years.

- Fire Emblem: Three Houses had 7 million hours watched in 2019.
- The game had 223,548 broadcasting hours.
- There were 801 viewers watching the game on average.
- 25 channels were streaming the game on average.
- It had a viewer ratio of 31.4.
- Its peak viewer count was 34,642.
- There were 10,118 broadcasters that streamed the game.
- Fire Emblem Engage had 4.5 million hours watched on Twitch in 2022.
- The game had 225,566 broadcasting hours.
- There were 517 viewers watching the game on average.
- 25 channels were streaming the game on average.
- It had a viewer ratio of 20.1.
- Its peak viewer count was 70,357.
- There were 9,453 broadcasters that streamed the game.
For this line of stats it is worth noting that the games have dipped in popularity as time has gone on, with Three Houses only having a fraction of the viewership it had at launch, but that is to be expected as a game gets older.
To sum up
Alright, that would be all we have to say about the legendary Fire Emblem series and all of the achievements it has made in the gaming industry since it emerged as one of the first and best RPG series out there. It has had a colorful history, with some of the titles, like Heroes, smashing revenue records across entire industries and making a daring example of what a successful mobile game can truly be. We sincerely hope that you have enjoyed what we’ve had to present here and that all of your questions have been answered!
