Ever wondered what it’s like to live a life at sea? Well, I may have the answer: Build a Boat for Treasure is a game for user-generated content site ROBLOX, by development group Chizz Studios. The whole point of the game is simple: your main objective is to reach the end of the map. To do so, you’ll need to construct a sea-worthy ship strong enough to survive a number of obstacles that will stand in your way.
To improve your construction capabilities, you can practice building boats, work in teams, and accomplish quests; all in the hopes of becoming as strong a sailor as you possibly can. For all these reasons, Build a Boat for Treasure is a deeply addictive title. This probably accounts for the fact that BaBfT has had 1.3 billion visits, 4 million favourites and today has over 40,000 regular players.
So you may be wondering: how can you go around constructing your first ship? Well, you’ll need to use ‘blocks’. Blocks, otherwise known as ‘parts’, are one of the mean features in Build a Boat for Treasure. Blocks can be used to construct boats and other structures, and are found primarily by unlocking chests available from the shop. The game separates blocks into three distinct categories: normal blocks, like the 2×2 Wood Block or the 0.5×1 Wood Rod; Decorative parts like Plushies, Mast, Steering Wheel, Chests, Doors and Seats; and Ability Blocks which add capabilities like Thruster, Fireworks, Weapons, Cameras or items for cars & planes.
The strength of your ship, as well as its capabilities, are decided by which blocks you decide to use to construct it. Different blocks are different “hit-points”, the measure of strength used in game. These hit-points decide how many times a block can be used to destroy obstacles before it sustains too much damage. Block strengths range from the weakest, Wood Block with only 1 hit-point, to the strongest: ‘huge wheels’. Boats can be built out of any block or combination of blocks. When your boat is complete, this can be launched simply by hitting the ‘Launch Boat’ button – which will unanchor your new creation and send it down the river.
BaBfT’s main in-game currency is ‘Gold’. Gold is awarded naturally based on a player’s progress in particular stages, allocated either when the player dies or when they successfully complete a stage. Stages are the name given to areas in Build a Boat for Treasure. There are 11 in a single run, and are changed and repeated at random. Every time you make a run, you’ll get a different sequence of stages. Gold can also be attained via promo codes, PvP, mini-games and certain Gold bar drops from chest blocks. Finally, you can also purchase gold with ROBUX for real money.
As the name would imply, the end-goal in Build a Boat for Treasure is… well… to build a boat and then find treasure. But treasure is the end goal, and only obtainable after passing through all the Stages without dying. In the meantime, you’ll need to simply accept Chests as the booty. Chests can be purchased through the Shop menu, and opened can offer the player a certain amount of blocks. The rarity of the chest will decide its value, with rarer chests offering more advanced blocks: Common Chests (costing 5 gold), Uncommon Chests (worth 15 gold), Rare Chests (worth 45 gold), Epic Chests (costing 135 gold) and Legendary Checks, the rarest in the game and worth 405 gold.

How To Redeem Build a Boat for Treasure Codes
It’s easy to redeem codes in Build a Boat for Treasure. Enter the game, head to the menu and hit the Shop button located on the right of the screen. Look for the Gear icon and click on it. Once you’ve scrolled to the bottom of that screen, you’ll see a ‘Redeem Code’ section with an input box titled ‘Code’.
Click on the box that says “Code” and type in one of the fantastic active codes featured above. Then just press enter, or hit ‘Claim’, and you should receive your reward. These codes are NOT case sensitive, but do feature both letters, numbers and symbols. Hit the enter key and enjoy your in-game items!
If the code you are entering is showing up as “INVALID”, you have either repeated the input of a used code, mistyped the code or that the code is expired. However, due to various redeeming bugs, it’s likely you’re having an issue rather than the code being marked as valid incorrectly. Remember: some codes will only work when you’re playing on new servers. Be sure to join a VIP or new server before redeeming any codes, or if one isn’t working, make sure you switch to a VIP or new server before trying to redeem again.
How To Use Build a Boat for Treasure Items
Unlike other Roblox games, Build a Boat for Treasure codes ordinarily offer only one of two things: gold or new blocks. It’s just as well this is so, because these are the two items you will need to improve your gameplay and proceed way faster through BaBfT.
New blocks can only be acquired through promo codes or purchasing chests in the shop, and except for learning how to use them more effectively, new blocks will be essential to deciding your success in-game. In short, this is why promo codes are so significant for quickly progressing through the game. They will either give you new blocks or speed up the process of acquiring them. Just make sure you’re investing your promo code gold intelligently, using it to purchase rarer chests as soon as you can.
Build a Boat for Treasure Tips & Tricks
Ultimately, the quality of your ships will depend on two things: which blocks you use and how you arrange them. Promo codes will help you do the first, but not the latter. Therefore, you’ll probably need to find some tips and tricks which will help you on your way. Lucky for you, we’ve arranged a couple to get you started:
There are a number of useful things to know when building, as well as a number of common mistakes to avoid. For instance, some beginners attempt to construct their ship with the stronger blocks on the outside. The rationale behind this is simple: keep the stronger blocks as defence barriers so that more of your ship stays intact for longer. However, this strategy misses the fact that a weak core will be of very little defence is large, unexpected obstacles add a lot of damage right away.
A number of other factors can undermine your build. Attempts to make your ship really strong at only one area will be quickly overcome by dynamic obstacles like rocks, dryers and stone balls which can switch around your orientation. Furthermore, factors like loose blocks, blocks inside one another, players who aren’t seated with a roof over them, and even poor internet speed can affect the speed of any build. However, block count and block weight don’t, so don’t worry about using too many blocks!
Finally, ever heard the phrase “a problem shared is a problem halved”? Teaming up and constructing a ship with a friend is a great way to create a ship which is way bigger, more advanced, sturdy and just generally better! However, please note that if your opposite number leaves, all their placed blocks will disappear from the building area. In other words, don’t think you get just multiplayer to grab your friend’s blocks and then go solo.
Apart from promo codes, there are only a few ways to quickly and effectively grind gold to buy chests and discover blocks. You are going to want to attain as many blocks and as much gold as possible, as this will speed you up as you progress through the various stages of the game.
One of the most popular non-glitch methods is to grind Noob Attack, one of Build a Boat for Treasure’s most popular minigames. To do so, just shoot the first door to the left of the Castle Wall Stage with the Cannon weapon. In this game mode, you’ll be fighting the Knight, Bandit, and Wizard-type enemies. You can use any weapon in this gamemode, but for maximum grinding efficiency be sure to use the Cannon!
Another is to complete Quests. Quests are activities that will reward players with Blocks and/or Gold. There are currently eight active quests: ‘The Target’, ‘The Ramp’, ‘Find Me’, ‘Dragon’, ‘The Box’, ‘The Cloud’, ‘The Rings’, and ‘Soccer Ball Quest’. Unfortunately, 11 repeatable quests have since been removed from the game. Repeating a Listed quest you’ve already completed usually will not award the player materials again.
