What are hats in Among Us?
There are five categories of cosmetics in Among Us: hats, skins, nameplates, visor accessories, and pets. Hats, which we’ll be covering here, as you can imagine, are a type of cosmetic that covers the tops of a character’s head.
Hats are purely visual items and grant no intended advantage in the game; they’re mostly there as a way for players to show support for the game’s creators with their wallets. However, if someone is an Impostor and is rushing away or using a vent, others can recognize them by a hat or pet since they make the space of their character larger. Cosmetics also make players easier to identify and memorize, which may be interpreted as a passive disadvantage. Some cosmetics partially mask the color of the player, which may help them in misleading other players.
How do I get Among Us hats?
A good number of hats in Among Us are available for free. Meanwhile, others have to be purchased from the in-game shop.
If you’re only looking for a single hat, you can buy them individually for $0.99/£0.89. Some hats come with skins and will set you back $1.99/£1.89. The game’s bundles, which are thematic packs containing multiple cosmetics, retail for $2.99/£2.79.
