The BenQ XL2411Z is a gaming monitor that is part of the BenQ XL series which was created with the collaboration of professional Counter-Strike gamers. The monitor has a 144Hz refresh rate and size of 24 inches with the Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 in a 16:9 aspect ratio, which means it has a pixel density of 92 pixels per inch. The XL2411Z provides the best gaming experience with very low frame input lag and a TN panel that allows the monitor to have a low response time of 1ms, which makes it really good for competitive gaming, especially in FPS games where every millisecond matters. But having a TN panel also brings some drawbacks to the monitor, like inaccurate color reproduction and poor viewing angles, which is better on more expensive IPS or VA panels. The monitor uses LED backlight technology, supports 16.7 million colors, has a brightness of 350 cd/m², and a static contrast ratio of 1000:1.
What the BenQ XL2411Z lacks is an adaptive sync like AMD FreeSync or NVIDIA G-Sync technology, which allows the monitor to have a variable refresh rate that is determined by the frame rate output of the graphics card. On the plus side, the monitor features NVIDIA 3D Vision 2 and NVIDIA 3D LightBoost technology, allowing you to experience the immersive 3D gaming. The only thing you need to get to start playing your favorite games and watching movies in a 3D world are the NVIDIA 3D Vision 2 glasses. BenQ also ensured that every user can have the best viewing experience with the Display Mode and Smart Scaling features. Using the Display Mode function you can change between 7 different screen sizes, from 17”, 19”, 19”W, 21.5”, 22”W, 23”W and 24”W, while the Smart Scaling allows you to freely scale the screen to any custom size. With the combination of these two features and Gaming Refresh rate Optimization Management (GROM), which allows you to have optimal refresh rates on different resolutions, you get the best gaming performance.
BenQ added a lot of features to reduce eyestrain and allow you to have comfort viewing experience for long periods of time. Motion Blur Reduction technology ensures ultra-smooth, free of blur gaming experience without lagging for the best vision quality. The Low Blue Light offers 10 adjustable levels, which reduce the blue in the light spectrum and therefore reduce eyestrain, a critical cause of eye damage and headaches.
On the bottom right side of the monitor, you have six touch keys, one to power on and off the display and other five to navigate through the OSD menus. In the On-Screen Display, you can change some basic settings (brightness, contrast, saturation) and manage features mentioned before and Black eQualizer, which brightens dark areas without over-exposing the white ones. To make the on-screen display adjustments even easier the XL2411Z has a Display Pilot function, which also provides direct access to the Game Mode Loader feature. With this, you can download special gaming preset calibrations (from BenQ’s website) used by professional gamers so you can have exactly the same display settings as them. You can have multiple modes from different players that you switch between in the Display Pilot. The monitor also comes with a special mode that was co-developed with pro gamers. This is called FPS Mode and has preset calibrations that provide optimal brightness, contrast, sharpness, and color tint. You can change between two variations of this mode, an FPS1 mode that is designed to configure and optimize the display for Counter-Strike 1.6 and an FPS2 mode for Counter-Strike Source.
For the video inputs, the BenQ XL2411Z has a VGA, Dual-Link DVI and HDMI port, with a VGA and a DVI cable included in the package with the monitor. It also has a headphones port and sleek hook for them at the back, but no built-in speakers.
The stand allows you to adjust the monitor to your best preference with swivel, tilt, pivot and height adjustment. You can also use the monitor in vertical or horizontal position. The monitor also features a quick-release VESA mount design.
