Sharkbite is a game created by Abracadabra Studio on the 4th of October, 2017 for user-generated games platform ROBLOX. As you start up the game, you’re confronted with a simple chance of fate: you can either be chosen to become a blood-thirsty shark, hunting your prey, or become a sailor, fighting to the end to avoid the horrifying jaws of your aquatic pursuers. As a survivor, you must buy a weapon and a boat, sail off into the deep blue sea. As a shark, your mission is practically the opposite: eat boats, eat survivors, and earn the in-game currency known as ‘Shark Teeth’.
When the game starts, players will be teleported to their boats and a title reading “THE SHARK HAS BEEN RELEASED” will appear on the screen, followed by a brief cutscene showing the shark entering the murky waters. This will be an invaluable way to form your strategy and tactics for the game ahead, as you’ll be able to identify which shark you’re going up against and prepare the best strategies to take it down.
Preparing to drop as a survivor, you should have only two words on your mind: ‘Weapons’ and ‘Boats’. Weapons should be your first concern, as they are your only way to damage the health of the shark. There are currently 13 weapons in the game, each with its own design, price, ammo capacity and unique capabilities. These range from the ‘Rifle’, which is the weakest in the game and the default starter weapon, to the ‘Shark Blaster’ and ‘Minigun’, the two most powerful weapons in the game. Ammo is important as, although players have ultimately an infinite number of clips, they will still need to find time to reload.
If weapons are your main form of offence, boats are your best chance of staying alive in Sharkbite. They are based on various real ships and water vehicles. Starting off, players will have access to four starter boats, available to new players as soon as they join the game for the first time: these include the Fishing Boat, the Sailboat, the Ducky Boat and the Patrol Boat. These all have a variety of stats, so you’ll have a good choice to begin with, but as soon as you start earning Shark Teeth you’d be best served to begin upgrading to new boats as soon as you can. There are 37 different boats in Sharkbite, which range from the cheapest, ‘Yacht’, to the most expensive, the ‘Titanic’ – a model of history’s most famous ship.
If you are chosen to be the shark, gameplay will be simple. There are a number of shark types and models that can be purchased with Shark Teeth, but the starter shark is the ferocious Great White. The shark naturally propels itself forward, so the player is left to direct its movement by moving their mouse cursor. A shark has a variety of tools at its disposal to hunt survivors; from ‘Particle Vision’ – which indicates moving voted with blue squares and players with red dots – to speed boots, biting and more.
For the players, gameplay is more like the movie Jaws. When a shark is near, tense music will begin to play alongside the in-game music. Once the shark kills a player, a blue rectangle will appear on the screen of everyone still alive, notifying them that they have lost a fellow survivor. The game ends either when the shark is killed or the survivors are no more, with a title that says either “THE SHARK HAS BEEN KILLED” or “THE SHARK HAS KILLED EVERYONE.”
Finally, to understand the game you must also understand Shark Teeth, the main currency in Sharkbite. These are used to buy pretty much everything in the game: from new sharks to new boats, extra amour to better weapons. There are a number of ways to attain them, but to get that extra boost in-game you’d do well to make best use of the awesome Sharkbite promo codes currently on offer. How To Use Sharkbite Items
All promo codes in the game will offer Shark Teeth, Sharkbite’s in-game currency. These rewards will help players survive rounds and become the best survivors they can be. There are a couple of ways to acquire Shark Teeth, so it’s important to use promo codes intelligently to get them to go as far as possible. Here’s a handy strategy to make the most of your promo codes:
There are a couple of ways to attain Shark Teeth in-game. You get 20 Shark Teeth for winning a round as a shark or survivor, you can get 50 Shark Teeth for claiming a chest in the Chest Chase Bonus Round, you get 5 Shark Teeth for killing a player as a shark and for dealing damage to the shark. You can make the most Shark Teeth possible as a shark, so make sure you make the most of those rare occasions you get chosen!
But if you’re looking for the easiest way to gain Shark Teeth quickly, you can purchase Shark Teeth with Robux, Robux’s inter-game currency which can only be attained when buying them for real world money. You may now be wondering why anyone would spend real world money on an in-game currency, but Shark Teeth are truly essential to progressing through Sharkbite. You use Shark Teeth to purchase new weapons, new boats, new shark models and new armour. These upgrades can end up make or break for getting ahead in-game, and can allow you to implement some strategies that make accumulating Shark Teeth really quick.
There are a couple of ways to grind Shark Teeth. You could farm them with an alt-account or a friend by finding a small or establishing a VIP server. You can also spend your current balance on a boat that can outrun sharks as you shoot at them, allowing you to deal a lot of damage before you die and earn a ton of Shark Teeth while you do. Finally, use a submarine or stealth boat to get the chest first during chest rounds. That 50 Shark Teeth is the equivalent of a promo code, so they are essential to any strategy looking at accumulating wealth fast.
Ultimate Guide to Every Shark in Sharkbite
You’ll only be selected as the shark on occasion, but many players admit that playing shark is probably the best part of the game. But when you’ve played for a while, you start to realise that there’s a lot more to the game than swimming around as a Great White. There are a bunch of different sharks to choose from in-game. Here’s a run-down of all the sharks available in-game, how to get them, and what their strengths & weaknesses are:
The Great White
The Great White is the default shark in-game and is given to a player when they first join. This is a great all-rounder to start off with: it is the same colour as the SWAT Boat or the Stealth Boat and it’s dark complexion makes it nearly impossible to catch at night. If you’re a more competent player, choosing the Great White could be a great choice to disarm your opponents because they will immediately assume you are a noob. However, the Great White is the weakest shark in the game. It can easily be killed by the survivors, largely due to the chance that it is rather easy to spot during the day and has a pretty large hitbox.
However, there are also three other variants of the Great White with different appearances. These are the Ghost Shark and the Rudolph Shark.
The Ghost Shark is a transparent version of the Great White Shark. This means that while it has the exact same stats as the Great White, it eliminates one of the default shark’s biggest weaknesses. It is nearly invisible and impossible to see it during the day, but is very visible at night. Unfortunately, the Ghost Shark is only available during October as a Halloween special, available for only 200 Shark Teeth.
On the other hand, the Rudolph Shark is another holiday variat of the default shark, available only during the Xmas Event by collecting 20 ‘presents’ in the festive period. Therefore, you don’t need Shark Teeth to acquire it and there are no real benefits behind a festive twist.
There is also one other Great White variant, known as the RGB Shark. If the Mosasaurus is the most expensive predator in the game, the RGB Shark – added temporarily through the 2020 Christmas Update – is the most difficult to acquire. Like the other holiday sharks, you don’t need Shark Teeth to acquire it. It is lit up with a cycle of different moving colours and features antlers and a glowing red nose. To claim it, you need to obtain 999 presents, which is a few more than is necessary for the Rudolph Shark. It is perhaps the best of the Great White sharks, but is also the most difficult to obtain.
The Hammerhead is one of the most popular sharks in the game, known for its affordable price, high speed and fierce appearance. The hammerhead can grow up to 20 feet maximum and is coated with a grey/orange coating. It is smaller yet faster than the Great White, being the third fastest in the game. This gives it a smaller hit-box but also makes getting kills slightly difficult, made up for slightly by the higher health. However, there are glitches that break the game for Hammerheads. A good all-rounder and a great stepping stone to the more powerful sharks. It costs 600 Shark Teeth to equip.
The Skeleshark is a shark that was added in the 2020 Halloween update. It sits somewhere between the Great White and the Megladon in the hierarchy of sharks. It is smaller, has less health and is slower than the Megalodon. But it is better in almost every regard than the Great White shark. This makes it a great stepping stone to the game’s most powerful sharks, but probably not one you’ll stick with. It costs 800 Shark Teeth to equip, making it the 3rd most expensive.
Another new shark added in 2020, the Shortfin Mako is fast – the second fastest in the game – with a pretty balanced size and hitbox. However, it’s one of the most expensive sharks, costing 1500 Shark Teeth to equip, and has a slightly bigger hitbox than the Great White. If you’re struggling with the Great White hitbox, perhaps best to aim elsewhere.
The Megladon is one of the most popular sharks in the game. It is the second largest, the fourth fastest and has the second most health, making it a great all-rounder and a favourite of the community. It also has an incredibly intimidating appearance. However, it is very easy to shoot because of its size, made up slightly by its large health capacity. It is also very slow, perhaps the primary drawback to choosing this monster.
The Mosasaurus isn’t technically a shark. Rather, it’s a marine reptile. But that technicality aside, the Mosasaurus is the most powerful predator in the game. It has the highest stats and the highest cost of any shark in the game, costing 2500 Shark Teeth to equip. This price, as well as it’s huge hitbox, makes the Mosasaurus a long shot for many beginners. But when you get the experience, and the skill required to manage the hitbox, you should aim to get your hands on the Mosasaurus – undoubtedly the best shark in the game.
