Coin Master pets guide: Foxy, Tiger & Rhino explained

Coin Master has three pets — Foxy, Tiger, and Rhino. Each one gives a different advantage. Here's what they do, how to unlock them, and which to use when.

Pets in Coin Master give you a passive edge while they’re active — more coins from raids, more from attacks, or a chance to block incoming attacks on your village. There are three pets: Foxy, Tiger, and Rhino. Each has a specific role, and knowing which to feed before a session is one of the easier ways to make your coin management more efficient.

How pets work

Each pet has an ability that activates while it’s fed and awake. Pets don’t stay active indefinitely — they need pet food to remain usable. When a pet runs out of food, it falls asleep and its ability stops working until you feed it again.

Pets level up as you feed them, increasing the strength of their ability over time. You can also speed up levelling with Pet XP, which comes from chests, events, and completing card sets.

Pet Crew is a feature available from Village 200 onwards. Once unlocked, if you feed all three pets simultaneously, all three abilities are active at the same time.

The three pets

Foxy

Ability: During a raid, Foxy digs an extra hole in the opponent’s village, giving you another chance to steal coins.

Unlock: Complete the Emerald card collection. Foxy becomes available from Village 4.

Best used when: You’re doing a raid session — especially if Raid Madness or Coin Craze is active. Foxy’s extra hole can significantly increase what you take from a single raid. Stacking Foxy with Raid Madness is the most coin-efficient raid setup (Source: Moon Active support).

Foxy is the first pet most players unlock and is arguably the most consistently useful for free-to-play coin farming.

Tiger

Ability: Adds bonus coins to the loot you earn from attacks on other players’ villages.

Unlock: Complete the Beasts card collection. Tiger becomes available from Village 20.

Best used when: You’re doing an attack session — particularly during Attack Madness or Ultra Attack events, where attack rewards are already multiplied. Tiger stacks with those event bonuses to increase the total payout per attack (Source: Moon Active support).

If you need coins and have attack spins ready, feeding Tiger before starting is a straightforward boost.

Rhino

Ability: When your village is attacked, Rhino has a chance to block the attack entirely — even without a shield.

  • Level 1 Rhino: 10% block chance
  • Max level Rhino: 70% block chance

Unlock: Complete the Creatures card collection. Rhino becomes available from Village 60.

Best used when: You’re putting the game down for a while and your village is unfinished or has coins stored that you don’t want raided away. Rhino runs passively — you don’t need to be playing for it to trigger. Activating Rhino before logging off is the standard defensive play (Source: community consensus and Moon Active support).

The block chance improvement from levelling Rhino is significant. A level 1 Rhino barely makes a difference; a max-level Rhino blocks 7 out of 10 attacks.

The official Moon Active guidance is to prioritise feeding the pet that aligns with your current goal: Foxy and Tiger when accumulating coins, Rhino when protecting assets (Source: Moon Active support).

Pet food

Pet food is the consumable that keeps pets active. Without it, pets sleep and provide no benefit.

How to get pet food:

  • From chests — some chest types include pet food or pet snacks as a possible drop
  • As event rewards — smaller amounts come through daily events and milestones
  • From the in-game shop — purchasable directly
  • Pet-specific events occasionally award pet food in larger quantities

Pet food tends to be a bottleneck for players trying to keep all three pets active. Prioritise feeding whichever pet is most useful for your current play session rather than trying to keep all three awake simultaneously unless you’re at Village 200+ with Pet Crew.

Pet outfits

Pet outfits are cosmetic items with a functional bonus — they boost the pet’s ability beyond its base level. Foxy outfits increase raid coin bonuses further, Tiger outfits boost attack earnings, and Rhino outfits improve the block chance.

Outfits come from events, milestone reward chests, and the Golden Pass. You can also fuse duplicate outfits to create a stronger version. They’re not essential for new players but become worthwhile at higher levels where marginal gains matter.

How to level up pets

Feed pets regularly to accumulate XP and advance their level. The higher the level, the stronger the ability:

  • Foxy’s extra raid hole contributes more coins at higher levels
  • Tiger’s attack bonus scales up
  • Rhino’s block chance rises from 10% at level 1 to 70% at max

Pet XP items can be used to accelerate levelling beyond what feeding alone provides. These drop from chests, card set completions, and events.

FAQ

How many pets are there in Coin Master?

Three: Foxy, Tiger, and Rhino. Each has a distinct ability — Foxy for raids, Tiger for attacks, Rhino for defence.

Can you use all three pets at once?

Yes — once you reach Village 200, the Pet Crew feature becomes available and lets you run all three pets simultaneously as long as all three are fed.

How do you unlock pets in Coin Master?

Each pet is unlocked by completing a specific card collection: the Emerald collection for Foxy, the Beasts collection for Tiger, and the Creatures collection for Rhino.

What is the best pet in Coin Master?

Foxy is the most consistently useful for coin farming since raids are the primary coin income beyond spinning. Tiger is the best choice during attack events. Rhino is essential for passive defence when you’re not actively playing.

Do pets work when you’re offline?

Rhino does — its block chance activates automatically whenever your village is attacked, regardless of whether you’re playing. Foxy and Tiger only apply during active raid and attack sessions.

How do you get pet food in Coin Master?

Pet food drops from certain chests, is awarded through events, and can be purchased from the in-game shop. It’s a limited resource — feed whichever pet is most useful for your current session rather than trying to keep all three active at once unless you have Pet Crew unlocked.
