Mouse polling rate test

Test your mouse polling rate in the browser. Move continuously to measure how often your mouse reports in Hz — 125, 250, 500, 1000, or higher.

Polling rate — measured in Hz — is how often your mouse sends position updates to your PC. Higher rates mean lower input latency and smoother cursor tracking. Gaming mice typically offer 125, 250, 500, or 1000 Hz; newer models go to 2000, 4000, or 8000 Hz. This browser test counts pointer movement samples while you move continuously in the target area.

How to use the polling rate test

  1. Set your mouse polling rate in its software if you want a specific profile active.
  2. Click Start test, then move your mouse smoothly inside the target.
  3. Keep moving until the timer ends — pauses reduce accuracy.
  4. Read the matched Hz and median interval in the results panel.

Tips for accurate results

  • Use a wired connection or a strong wireless link — dongle close to the mouse.
  • Disable browser zoom at 100% and close heavy background tabs.
  • Move in smooth circles or back-and-forth lines — not short taps.
  • Results may read slightly below your setting because browsers batch pointer events.
