If you’ve ever noticed your chests feeling more generous in certain villages — more rare cards, the occasional gold card — you weren’t imagining it. Those are boom villages, and knowing which ones they are can make a real difference when you’re trying to complete card sets.
What are boom villages?
Boom villages are specific Coin Master villages where chests give better odds of dropping rare and gold cards. Moon Active has never officially confirmed or documented them — there are no in-game indicators, no announcements, nothing. The entire boom village list is community-sourced, built from thousands of player reports comparing chest results across different villages over several years.
Two things are consistently reported in boom villages:
- Higher rare card drop rates from all chest types
- Better gold card odds — significant because gold cards cannot be traded normally, only during specific Gold Trade events
A subset of boom villages are known as Big Boom villages, where the effect is reported to be even stronger. Villages 27 (Columbus), 51 (Japan), and 87 (Baba Yaga) are the most commonly cited Big Boom villages in the community.
How to use boom villages strategically
The core strategy is simple: when you reach a boom village, pause your progression and buy chests before moving on.
- Finish building the village first — chest odds apply while you’re actively in that village
- Stack coins before arriving — use free spins and events to build a coin reserve so you can buy aggressively when you land in one
- Prioritise wooden and golden chests — magical and seasonal chests are expensive and better saved for card boom events
- Don’t rush past — moving to the next village immediately after completing a boom village means leaving behind the better card odds without using them
- Check your card sets — if you’re close to completing a set that rewards spins or pets, a boom village is the best time to target it
The strategy becomes especially important at higher levels, where chests cost billions of coins and you want every purchase to count. Buying chests in a regular village at Village 200+ is expensive; buying them in a boom village at the same level is the better use of those coins.

What about villages above 143?
The community-confirmed boom village list gets patchier above Village 143 because fewer players have reached those levels and systematically tracked chest results. Some higher-level boom villages are reported — for example, villages around 150, 175, and 200 are commonly cited in community forums — but the data isn’t consistent enough to list them here with confidence.
The approach at higher levels: treat every village the same and focus chest purchases on card boom events and seasonal chests rather than relying on boom village timing alone.
Boom villages and card sets
The main reason boom villages matter is cards — specifically rare and gold cards, which are the hardest to complete card sets with.
- Rare cards have a low baseline drop rate from chests. Boom villages increase that rate meaningfully, according to community testing.
- Gold cards cannot be traded under normal circumstances. Your only reliable ways to get them are: boom villages, the Viking Quest event, Joker cards, and Gold Card trading events. That makes boom villages one of the few consistent non-event sources.
- Card sets reward spins, coins, and pet XP on completion — so finishing sets faster directly accelerates your progression.

FAQ
Are boom villages officially confirmed by Moon Active?
No. Moon Active has never acknowledged or documented boom villages. The list is entirely community-sourced, based on player testing and reports. There are no in-game indicators telling you when you’re in a boom village.
What is a Big Boom village?
Big Boom villages are a subset of boom villages where the card drop improvement is reported to be stronger than a standard boom village. The most consistently cited Big Boom villages are Columbus (27), Japan (51), and Baba Yaga (87).
Do boom villages affect coin rewards too?
Coin rewards from the slot machine are determined by your bet level and aren’t linked to which village you’re in. The boom village effect applies specifically to card drops from chests.
Should I stop progressing at every boom village?
Only if you need cards. If your card sets are complete or you’re not actively trying to collect, moving through boom villages without farming chests is fine. The effect is only relevant when chest purchases matter to you.
Are boom villages worth it at high levels where chests are expensive?
Yes — arguably more so. At higher village levels, chests cost significantly more coins per purchase. Getting better odds on rare and gold cards in exchange for the same coin spend is a better return. Just make sure you’ve stocked enough coins before arriving.
How do I know which village I’m currently in?
Your current village name and number are shown at the top of your village screen in the game. Cross-reference with the list above or the full Coin Master village list to check if you’re in a boom village.
